Senra Systems has raised $65 million in a Series B round to accelerate its software-led expansion in wire harness manufacturing for aerospace and defense, bringing total funding to more than $112 million and supporting plans for a third factory. Co-led by Lowercarbon Capital and Interlagos with participation from leading venture investors, the financing positions Senra to deepen its role in resolving a critical production bottleneck across the U.S. defense industrial base.
CEO Jordan Black noted that wire harnesses, the “nervous system” of modern aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles, satellites and defense platforms, remain almost entirely hand-built and dependent on fragmented documentation and tribal expertise, which constrains output and reliability. Senra’s proprietary Amp platform integrates quoting, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and production workflows into a single digital system, enabling faster onboarding, reduced variability and shorter lead times for customers under pressure to meet growing program requirements.
Operationally, Senra has already increased capacity with Factory 2 in Cypress, California, expanding its manufacturing footprint by roughly fivefold and adding about 80,000 square feet of space for prototype-to-production programs. Supported by the Amp-driven operating model, the company aims to lift monthly output from around 1,000 harnesses today to 10,000 by next year, demonstrating that its software-centric approach can be replicated quickly across sites and scaled to meet surge demand.
The planned third factory, financed by the new capital, targets the broader challenge facing the defense industrial base: surging demand for harnesses amid a shrinking skilled workforce and legacy manual processes that threaten schedules and readiness. Senra’s structured, software-enabled training framework is designed to have technicians producing complex harnesses in weeks rather than years, effectively converting a labor-intensive chokepoint into a scalable capability that supports national defense and high-growth commercial aerospace programs.
To support this next phase, Senra has hired former SpaceX CIO Ken Venner as chief technology and product officer, leveraging his experience in building enterprise and manufacturing systems that underpinned SpaceX’s production ramp. Venner is tasked with turning Senra’s processes, technology stack and operational infrastructure into an integrated platform that can sustain long-term efficiency and capacity across multiple factories. As geopolitical competition intensifies and demand for advanced platforms increases, Senra’s strategy—combining automation, digitized workflows and workforce development—aims to expand domestic production capacity, strengthen supply chain resilience and provide investors and customers with a scalable solution to a historically constrained segment of aerospace and defense manufacturing.
