Nominal Selected as Data Backbone for DARPA Digital Twin Test Program

According to a recent LinkedIn post from Nominal, the company has been selected to serve as the data backbone for DARPA’s CyPhER Forge program, awarded via its Air Force Test Center IDIQ. The post describes CyPhER Forge as aiming to replace a significant portion of live flight testing with real-time digital twins and AI test agents to cut required test points for developmental combat systems by an order of magnitude.

The company’s LinkedIn post highlights that Nominal’s role is to provide a managed data layer where prime contractors and research institutes can train and validate their digital twins and AI agents against real flight data. For investors, this positioning suggests potential for recurring, high-value defense-related data infrastructure revenue and deeper integration into U.S. defense testing workflows, which could enhance Nominal’s competitive standing in aerospace and defense analytics.

The post also implies that successful execution could make Nominal’s platform a critical enabler of more efficient and data-driven test and evaluation processes in combat system development. If the program scales and influences broader adoption of digital twin–based testing, Nominal could benefit from increased demand for secure, high-integrity flight data management and analytics across defense primes and research institutions.
