Generate Capital has successfully raised more than $1 billion over the past year, enhancing its credit strategies with a diverse array of institutional partners. This influx of capital is set to bolster essential infrastructure projects across North America, aligning with the favorable supply-demand dynamics of the energy market. The firm has strengthened its relationships with insurance companies, pension plans, and existing shareholders, which has accelerated the momentum of its investment strategies, particularly in middle-market infrastructure credit. Generate’s unique approach to origination and structuring is bridging financing gaps for capital-intensive businesses.
CEO David Crane emphasized the growing importance of credit as a tool for scaling critical infrastructure, noting the strong market tailwinds and the necessity for innovative, scalable capital solutions. Generate’s credit platform has seen robust deal activity, with two new financings completed recently and a promising pipeline of opportunities in sectors like green steel, data center power, and thermal storage. These investments highlight Generate’s capability to deliver tailored, risk-mitigated financing solutions that ensure long-term growth and consistent returns for investors. Beyond credit, Generate continues to expand its investment platform, managing over $9 billion in assets across credit and equity strategies. Recent achievements include an $85 million community solar fund and a $45 million financing for anaerobic digesters, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable energy solutions. Bill Sonneborn, President and Head of Credit, reiterated the relevance of Generate’s mission and the dedication of its partners in advancing critical infrastructure financing.
