Fetch – Weekly Recap

Fetch spent the week underscoring its ambition to become an AI-native universal rewards platform, highlighting both new leadership and a deeper focus on data-driven innovation. The company emphasized that its strategy is built around real purchase behavior, aiming to enhance value for consumers and brand partners.

During its internal Innovation Week, Fetch showcased the launch of an AI Intelligence Layer designed to sit at the core of its product stack. This layer is intended to enable more targeted consumer rewards and richer insights for advertisers by leveraging detailed transaction and SKU-level purchase data.

The company indicated that this AI-centric approach is meant to sharpen its competitive edge in the consumer rewards and loyalty market. By improving personalization and measurement, Fetch aims to drive stronger user engagement while helping brands achieve measurable acquisition and retention outcomes.

Fetch also announced the appointment of Phil McDonnell as Chief Product Officer, signaling a stronger emphasis on product-led growth. McDonnell, who previously held senior roles at Chime and Coinbase and spent nearly a decade at Google, will oversee product and design as Fetch advances its outcomes-based advertising platform.

McDonnell’s background in scaling fintech products, subscription businesses, and AI-driven marketing attribution aligns closely with Fetch’s data and analytics ambitions. His experience is expected to support more sophisticated targeting, attribution, and personalized reward structures, reinforcing the company’s monetization of its extensive transaction data.

Operationally, Fetch reports processing more than 13 million receipts per day, capturing visibility into about $212 billion in gross merchandise value. The company has distributed over $1 billion in Fetch Points, underscoring both strong user engagement and the need for careful rewards-liability management through disciplined product design.

These developments suggest Fetch is positioning itself not just as a consumer rewards app but as a broader marketing infrastructure layer for brands. The combination of an AI Intelligence Layer and experienced product leadership could enhance its ability to deliver incremental business results for partners and diversify long-term revenue streams.

Overall, the week marked a strategically significant period for Fetch, with both organizational and technological moves reinforcing its focus on AI, data monetization, and scalable product innovation.
