Corgi Insurance is expanding its AI-native insurance franchise into the global sports and entertainment market with the launch of Golden by Corgi, a dedicated vertical built for leagues, federations, clubs, events, and venues. The new platform consolidates traditionally fragmented sports insurance arrangements into a single, full-stack program that integrates custom coverage design, rapid certificate issuance, in-house claims management, and embedded risk prevention tailored to the specific needs of sports organizations.

Golden is led by co-founders Peter Akman and Mike T. Brown, both former professional athletes and founders, who are positioning the platform as a specialist solution for risks that standard commercial insurance products struggle to address. Operating initially across the United States, Golden already serves national governing bodies and Olympic programs, including USA Fencing, signaling early traction with high-profile, complex clients that can drive premium volume and validate the model.

Strategically, the launch extends Corgi’s core AI-driven capabilities into a large, under-optimized segment of the $600 billion global sports industry, where insurance programs have historically been distributed across multiple brokers, carriers, and administrators with limited transparency and efficiency. By replacing that multi-party stack with a single platform, Corgi aims to capture more of the value chain, deepen data access on sports-related risk, and improve margins through technology-enabled underwriting and claims operations.

Golden currently offers more than twenty lines of coverage designed for teams, leagues, tournaments, facilities, and sports organizations of varying scale, reinforcing Corgi’s ambition to become the primary insurance partner for the sports ecosystem. For executives, the initiative signals Corgi’s continued growth beyond its existing AI-native commercial footprint, supported by $374 million of capital raised and a recent $2.6 billion valuation, and positions the company to leverage sector-specific expertise and proprietary risk data to drive long-term premium growth and product innovation.
