Cato Networks has introduced the Cato Browser Extension, a new tool designed to streamline secure access for unmanaged devices such as personal, contractor, and BYOD endpoints. This extension integrates with the Cato SASE Cloud Platform, offering a seamless solution that eliminates the need for additional software installations or complex deployments typically associated with legacy VPNs or enterprise browsers. By doing so, Cato addresses the growing security risks posed by unmanaged devices, which, according to the 2025 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report, account for 46% of compromised systems containing corporate credentials.
The extension, a native Google Chrome add-on, allows enterprises to maintain consistent Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) policies across all devices without disrupting the user experience. This development is particularly significant in the context of increasing hybrid work environments and regulatory pressures from frameworks like GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS. By unifying access through a single policy model, Cato Networks enhances operational simplicity, reduces IT overhead, and ensures audit readiness. The Cato Browser Extension is now available as part of Cato’s existing user-based licensing for ZTNA, offering a strategic advantage by closing security gaps and simplifying compliance efforts.
