Blacksmith Raises $45M Series B to Scale Code Validation Cloud

According to a recent LinkedIn post from Blacksmith, the company has completed a $45M Series B funding round led by Peak XV, with existing investors Y Combinator and GV increasing their stakes at a reported $550M valuation. The post notes that the round was closed in March and links the capital raise to accelerating demand for Blacksmith’s code validation services.

The company’s LinkedIn post highlights that continuous integration job volume on its platform has grown more than 7X since the start of the year, driven by increased code generation from tools such as Claude Code. The post suggests that validating this growing volume of code has become a bottleneck, with Blacksmith indicating that more than 6,000 companies, including Supabase, Clerk, Ashby and Mercury, are using its services.

As shared in the post, Blacksmith intends to deploy the new capital primarily toward compute infrastructure to support its plan to build a cloud tailored to code validation workloads. This direction points to a capital-intensive scaling strategy, which could increase operating costs in the near term but may strengthen the firm’s competitive position in developer tooling and CI infrastructure if demand continues to expand.

The LinkedIn content also emphasizes hiring, particularly for engineering roles in New York City and San Francisco, signaling an expansion of headcount to execute on its infrastructure ambitions. For investors, the combination of rapid usage growth, a sizable valuation uplift and aggressive investment in compute capacity and talent suggests that Blacksmith is positioning itself as a key infrastructure provider in a market fueled by AI-driven software development.
