The release of Nintendo’s (NTDOF) Switch 2 is less than a month away, and the video game company continues to provide consumers with more information about the console. Today’s update includes a list of original Switch games that will get upgrades on the Switch 2. The biggest surprise is that these will be free of charge.

Nintendo’s decision to not charge for upgrades to some Switch games is unexpected. The company has other Switch games that do cost extra for their Switch 2 upgrades, such as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This sparked some criticism from fans, while others were receptive to the idea of getting extra content with the upgrades.
Switch 2 Free Game Upgrade Details
The list of original Nintendo Switch games getting upgrades for the Switch 2 are all first-party titles. Additionally, the upgrades will be released on June 5, 2025, the same day as the Switch 2.

The updates for these games range for each title, however, common improvements include better visuals, higher frame rates, and HDR support. Some of the games, such as 51 Worldwide Games are getting GameShare support via GameChat.
Is NTDOF Stock a Buy, Hold, or Sell?
Turning to Wall Street, the analysts’ consensus rating for Nintendo is Moderate Buy, based on six Buy, one Hold, and one Sell ratings over the last three months. With that comes an average NTDOF stock price target of $86.02, representing a potential 9.23% upside for the shares.
