No one really likes Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) updates, but the demands of the AI arms race pretty much require them. At least, the latest one will. Microsoft plans an update to Windows 11 that will put one of its big new AI tools front and center. Investors appear satisfied, if only barely; Microsoft was up fractionally in Tuesday afternoon’s trading.

With the next update, Microsoft will officially add its new Bing system, backed up by artificial intelligence tools, into the search boxes right on a user’s desktop. Admittedly, this is the same Bing that threatened at least one user’s career, but thankfully, that’s not all the update will have to offer.
The new Windows 11 update will also boast some improvements for touchscreen users, a screen recording system, access to tabs in Notepad, an improved slate of widgets, and several other new features. Several of these features will, hopefully, appeal to more mobile-focused users, reports note. Microsoft, according to chief product officer Panos Panay, is working to “…thoughtfully and responsibly scale it (AI) up.” This likely means that Microsoft won’t be focusing on AI but will be adding it to the slate of features much like any other new technology.

Overall, analyst consensus calls Microsoft stock a Strong Buy with 16.71% upside potential thanks to its average share price of $292.07.
