While the company has not changed iCloud pricing in the U.S., its U.K. customers will now have to cough up nearly 25% more. Apple customers get free cloud storage of 5 GB with paid tiers at 50 GB, 200 Gb, and 2 TB.
iCLoud+, the paid tiers, provide features including Private Relay and HomeKit Secure Video, and according to 9to5Mac, higher pricing has been seen in countries including Turkey, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Poland, and the UAE.
In another development, Apple and Broadcom’s (NASDAQ:AVGO) appeal in a patent infringement lawsuit was rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court. The lawsuit was brought by the California Institute of Technology, and the two companies were earlier asked to shell out a combined total of $1.1 billion. Now, the Supreme Court’s action means Apple and Broadcom can only haggle over the amount to be paid and not the validity of the patents.
Overall, the Street has a $190.36 consensus price target on Apple alongside a Strong Buy consensus rating. Shares of the company have surged nearly 49.2% so far this year.
