Google’s parent company Alphabet (GOOGL) has released a new artificial intelligence (AI) model that is to be used specifically for coding tasks.
Gemini 3.7 is a new AI model built for software coding and automated business operations. The technology giant is marketing the new model as a budget-friendly choice for companies developing autonomous AI systems capable of planning tasks, using software tools, and reducing human oversight.
Gemini 3.7 Flash is being released only three weeks after the launch of Gemini 3.6 Flash. Alphabet says the new model offers better performance in coding tasks, including debugging, issue resolution, and production-ready code generation.
More Affordable AI Models
Alphabet has set an introductory price of $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens through the end of the year, which is half the cost of Gemini 3.6 Flash that was released at the end of July. Gemini 3.7 Flash is now available through Gemini Spark, Google’s subscription-based AI agent service for Google AI Pro and Ultra customers.
Alphabet and other technology companies are racing to release more affordable AI models as they face growing competition from cheap Chinese AI applications, many of which are being released for free. There are also reports that companies are growing fatigued with spending on AI products.
Investors continue to wait for Alphabet to release Gemini 3.5 Pro, its premium AI model. The company said in July that Gemini 3.5 Pro is undergoing testing with partners and would launch by year’s end.
Is GOOGL Stock a Buy?
The stock of Alphabet has a consensus Strong Buy rating among 30 Wall Street analysts. That rating is based on 25 Buy and five Hold recommendations issued in the last three months. The average GOOGL price target of $422.59 implies 23% upside from current levels.
