Microchip Technology Incorporated has announced the appointment of Richard J. Simoncic as the new Chief Operating Officer, effective April 1, 2024. Bringing a rich history with the company, Simoncic has climbed the ranks since joining in 1990, recently holding the role of Executive Vice President. He is set to work under the direction of President and CEO Ganesh Moorthy. This strategic move coincides with the retirement of Stephen V. Drehobl, a Senior Vice President, who will be leaving the company on June 7, 2024. Simoncic’s appointment represents continuity and experience in Microchip Technology’s leadership.
