On April 3, 2025, International Media Acquisition Corp. (IMAQ) entered into a merger agreement with VCI Holdings Limited and Vietnam Biofuels Development Joint Stock Company, collectively known as the VCI Biofuels Group. This strategic merger, valued at $1 billion, aims to publicly list the combined entity on NASDAQ under the name VI Energy. The merger is expected to provide VCI Biofuels Group with access to capital markets, supporting its growth strategy and strengthening its position in the biofuel sector. IMAQ management believes this merger will enable VCI Biofuels Group to capitalize on the growing demand for biofuels, both locally and internationally, and plans to expand into the sustainable aviation fuel market.
