ArcelorMittal has appointed Kleber Silva as the new CEO of ArcelorMittal Mining, effective April 8, 2024, succeeding Stefan Buys who departs on March 30. Silva, who returns after a tenure at Eramet, brings over 35 years of experience in the mining and metals sector, including previous leadership roles within ArcelorMittal. The company acknowledges Buys’ contributions, particularly in advancing the mining business in Liberia and Canada and emphasizes Silva’s seasoned expertise to spearhead the next development phase, focusing on growth and industry trends like safety and digitalization.
