Aptitude lifts H1 profit as Fynapse-led shift offsets legacy churn

Aptitude lifts H1 profit as Fynapse-led shift offsets legacy churn
Story Highlights
  • Aptitude improved H1 2026 operating profit as it pivots to higher-margin, software-led Finance ERP through Fynapse, with core AI Autonomous Finance ARR up 12% and strong cross-sector contract wins driving an 85% surge in Fynapse recurring revenue.
  • Legacy portfolio churn kept total ARR slightly lower at £49.9 million, but Aptitude’s reorganisation, multi-year renewals, strengthened partner-led pipeline and solid net cash position support its Fynapse-focused strategy amid an ongoing strategic review and sale process.

The latest announcement is out from Aptitude Software Group plc ( (GB:APTD) ).

Aptitude Software reported improved operating profit for the first half of 2026 as it accelerated its transition to a higher-margin, software-led and partner-led business model built around its Fynapse Finance ERP platform. Annual recurring revenue in its core AI Autonomous Finance segment rose 12% to £20.1 million, driven by strong Fynapse momentum including an 85% increase in Fynapse ARR and several sizeable cross-sector wins in financial services, telecoms and insurance.

These gains were partially offset by expected churn in legacy products, leaving group ARR marginally lower at £49.9 million, but the company has largely completed a rationalisation of product lines and teams to focus investment on Fynapse and finance ERP opportunities. Aptitude strengthened account management, secured multi-year renewals worth £19.2 million in total contract value, and grew a partner-led Fynapse pipeline that now represents the vast majority of new business, while maintaining a robust net cash position despite reorganisation costs and a suspended share buyback amid an ongoing strategic review and formal sale process.

Spark’s Take on APTD Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, APTD is a Neutral.

The score is held up by a conservatively financed balance sheet and consistently positive operating/free cash flow, but is weighed down by two years of revenue contraction and declining profits. Technicals also detract due to the price sitting below key longer-term moving averages with a negative MACD, while valuation remains only fair given a 33.6 P/E despite a modest ~2.36% dividend yield.
