President Trump received his third Nobel Peace Prize nomination after Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet nominated him for the coveted award. Manet cited Trump’s critical role in brokering a ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand following a five-day battle over a border dispute.

“President Trump’s extraordinary statesmanship — marked by his commitment to resolving conflicts and preventing catastrophic wars through visionary and innovative diplomacy — was most recently demonstrated in his decisive role in brokering an immediate and unconditional cease-fire between Cambodia and Thailand,” said Manet in a letter sent to The Norwegian Nobel Committee.
Israel and Pakistan Nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize
Trump has also received Nobel Peace Prize nominations from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the government of Pakistan. Netanyahu cited his role in achieving peace in the Middle East while Pakistan nominated him for mediating a ceasefire with India.
Cambodia and Thailand agreed to a ceasefire on July 28 after Trump warned the two countries that the U.S. would end trade talks with them unless they stopped fighting.
