Reuters reported that the Chinese search engine Baidu (NASDAQ: BIDU) could launch an AI-based chatbot service similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT in March.

The report stated that Baidu plans to launch the service as a standalone service before merging it into its search engine. Baidu is looking at diversifying its revenues and is increasingly investing in AI, including cloud services, autonomous driving, and chips.
Analysts are cautiously optimistic about BIDU stock with a Moderate Buy consensus rating based on 13 Buys and five Holds.
