Cisco Systems Stock Forecast: Trending Views Split Analysts

(CSCO) stock has fallen 6.6% over the past week, gained 1.5% in the last month, and surged 67.1% over the past year, reflecting a powerful rally that has recently cooled. Wall Street’s analysts are moderately bullish, forecasting further gains over the next twelve months, with an average price target of $141.83 versus a last close of $113.47.

Tal Liani of BofA, a 4-star analyst ranking 696 out of 12,419 with a 58.0% success rate and 11.2% average return per rating, reiterated his Buy rating on 13 August 2026 and set a $150 price target. That implies meaningful upside from current levels, driven by broad-based demand, strong networking performance, and growing AI-related business.

Liani highlights that Cisco’s networking strength is underpinning a raised outlook, with 4Q26 revenue up 18% year-on-year versus the Street’s 15% expectation and networking revenue up 28%. He points to stable product order growth of 35% and accelerating demand from both hyperscalers and non-cloud customers, suggesting that core and AI momentum could support further upside in FY27 and beyond.

On the other side, Abhishek Shukla of HSBC, a 3-star analyst ranking 6,667 out of 12,419 with a 75.0% success rate and 16.9% average return, downgraded Cisco to Hold on 14 August 2026 with a $120 price target. Shukla acknowledges strong results and guidance but cuts his target from $137, arguing that valuation is full and near-term catalysts are limited.

Shukla notes that while FY27 non-GAAP EPS guidance and networking segment growth are impressive, he expects growth to slow from FY28 and sees Cisco trading close to sector valuations despite slower long-term earnings growth versus peers. Together, these views form a “Moderate Buy” consensus, signaling that Cisco remains attractive for growth-oriented investors, but with valuation risks that more cautious players should watch.
