Adobe Stock Forecast: Analysts Eye AI Disruption Risks

Adobe Inc.’s (ADBE) stock has fallen 0.0% over the past week, dropped 10.3% in the last month, and is down 29.8% over the past year. Wall Street’s analysts are neutral, with a Hold consensus and a 12‑month price target of $263.59, implying modest upside from the last close at $238.14.

Stephen Bersey of HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. downgraded Adobe to Hold from Buy on October 13, 2026, cutting his price target to $267.00. His new target suggests about 10.2% upside, reflecting reduced confidence as competitive and technological risks mount.

Bersey trimmed his non‑GAAP EPS estimates by 1–2%, warning that some amateur retail users could migrate away from Adobe due to new free alternatives. While he expects minimal operational impact for now, he notes that even small revenue adjustments and lower valuation multiples can weigh on sentiment in a stock already under pressure.

A key concern is a free open‑source clone of Adobe’s Creative Cloud, reportedly offering versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom, Acrobat, After Effects, and InDesign. Bersey highlights that this “auto‑coded” project poses security, legal, and maintenance risks, and is likely to appeal more to freemium and open‑source enthusiasts than to business‑grade users.

Despite these worries, Bersey sees Adobe as fairly valued at about 9.0x 2027e non‑GAAP P/E, versus a sector median of 20.7x, and applies a discounted target multiple of 10.5x given AI‑driven disruption risks. He values Adobe using a P/E‑based approach, concluding that rising AI competition and headline risks justify a Hold stance rather than a Buy for investors watching the stock closely.
