What Does the Signal Mean?
The TipRanks Politicians Trading Activity Tool tracks stock trades reported by members of the U.S. Congress under the STOCK Act, which requires lawmakers to disclose securities transactions.
A Positive signal means reported purchases have exceeded sales over the past three months. Meanwhile, a Negative signal means reported sales have been higher than purchases. The signals provide a simple snapshot of recent congressional trading activity for a stock.
How Have Politicians Traded AMD?
AMD currently carries a Very Positive politicians’ trading signal. All three disclosed transactions from the past three months were purchases.
The latest reported trades came from Representative Gilbert Ray Cisneros Jr. and Representative Josh Gottheimer. Both lawmakers reported buying AMD shares in May and June, with most trades valued between $1,001 and $15,000.

AMD has also delivered strong results this year. Its second-quarter revenue reached a record $11.54 billion, up 50% from a year earlier. AI data center revenue more than doubled to $6.72 billion. The company expects third-quarter revenue of about $13 billion, slightly above Wall Street’s $12.52 billion estimate.
Nvidia Sees More Selling
Nvidia has a Negative politicians’ trading signal based on 4 disclosed transactions over the past three months.
The latest reported trade was a $15,001 to $50,000 sale by Senator Sheldon Whitehouse on June 30. In contrast, Representatives Cleo Fields and Ro Khanna reported Nvidia purchases in June. Still, reported sales outweighed the buying activity. Whitehouse also sold between $100,001 and $250,000 of Nvidia shares on May 8.

Nvidia is also set to report its fiscal second-quarter 2027 results on August 26. Wall Street expects Nvidia to report earnings per share of $2.08 on revenues of $91.91 billion. Investors will be watching the results after the stock gained about 12% over the past five weeks. The rally came after SpaceX (SPCX) said it plans to use Nvidia’s Vera Rubin platform for its AI computing needs.
What Does Wall Street Think?
