Going forward, people watching National Basketball Association (NBA) games on Amazon’s Prime Video will be able to track their wagers through Flutter-owned (FLUT) FanDuel. Amazon says that FanDuel is the exclusive oddsmaker of NBA and WNBA basketball games that are streamed on Prime Video.

People who bet on basketball games can link their FanDuel accounts to their Prime Video profiles and see how their wagers are playing out in real time while the games are being played live, says Amazon. Users can also track their progress on parlays and check wins and losses. However, people cannot place bets directly on Prime Video or through Amazon. They must use FanDuel to make bets.

Gambling Explosion

The deal between Amazon and FanDuel comes as sports gambling explodes across the U.S. With more states legalizing sports betting, Americans are expected to spend more than $150 billion this year betting on the outcomes of football, basketball, baseball, soccer, and ice hockey games. Sports betting is currently legal in 39 U.S. states.

Amazon says it aims to create an “immersive” experience for people watching and betting on NBA basketball games that stream on Prime Video. Former LA Clippers basketball player Blake Griffin, who will serve as an analyst for NBA on Prime Video, will also become an ambassador for FanDuel’s NBA offering.
