ETF Overview

Pacer Swan SOS Moderate (May) ETF

Pacer Swan SOS Moderate (May) ETF (MMAY) is an actively managed structured‑outcome ETF designed to give investors a controlled way to participate in the S&P 500 through exposure to the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) while seeking a predetermined downside buffer and a corresponding cap on upside over a defined outcome period. The fund implements its outcome strategy primarily by holding SPY-linked option positions and high‑quality collateral (cash and short‑duration fixed income), using combinations of puts, calls and option spreads to create a targeted protection band for each outcome period (the “May” series). Positioned in the Structured Outcome — Downside Hedge niche of the market, MMAY targets investors who want equity market participation but prefer explicit, rule‑based downside mitigation rather than outright market timing. The “Moderate” label reflects a middle‑of‑the‑road tradeoff: a meaningful partial buffer against losses in exchange for limited upside participation relative to unhedged SPY returns. Because the strategy is actively managed, the fund will roll and adjust option exposures across outcome periods to attempt to maintain its target buffer and cap profile. MMAY can be used as a defensive sleeve inside a broader equity allocation, a tactical overlay to reduce tail risk, or a replacement for purchasing outright puts for investors seeking a known risk/return band. Investors should understand the tradeoffs: the fund’s protection is limited to the specified buffer (losses beyond that buffer remain possible), upside is capped, and option‑based strategies involve costs, active management risk and outcome‑period timing considerations.
