ETF Overview
Corgi Emerging Markets Equities 15% Structured Buffer ETF - May Series
EMMY — Corgi Emerging Markets Equities 15% Structured Buffer ETF - May Series is an actively managed, structured-outcome ETF that seeks to deliver the price return of the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (EEM) while providing a built-in downside cushion. Using exchange-listed FLEX options, the fund is designed each year to protect investors from the first 15% of annual losses in EEM while capping upside above a preset participation level. The series rolls annually, with each term beginning May 1 and resetting the fund’s option-based hedge and upside cap for the next 12 months.
Positioned in the emerging markets equities niche, EMMY gives investors a way to gain exposure to broad emerging-markets equity performance with a defined, calendar-year downside buffer. The manager customizes option strikes and structures to balance the trade-off between the size of the buffer and the level of upside cap, so investors should expect reduced participation in strong rallies in exchange for the limited downside protection. Because the program relies on options pricing and active structuring, outcomes (buffer effectiveness and cap level) will vary year to year.
EMMY is suitable for investors who want targeted downside mitigation on EEM exposure—for example, those comfortable accepting a capped upside and option-structure costs in return for protection against modest to moderate annual declines. Important considerations include the annual reset (protection applies on a per-series basis), potential tracking differences versus EEM, option-related costs and liquidity, and the fact that the buffer is limited to the first 15% of losses in a series; losses beyond that band are borne by shareholders.
