ETF Overview
Amana Developing World ETF
Amana Developing World ETF (AMEM) is a large-cap, value-focused exchange-traded fund that seeks long-term capital growth by investing in established companies across developing and emerging markets while adhering to Islamic (Shariah) investment principles. The fund targets the value niche within the Size & Style category: it concentrates on sizable, well-established firms that appear attractively priced relative to fundamentals—favoring companies with solid cash flows, reasonable valuations and, often, sustainable dividend profiles. Portfolio construction combines geographic diversification across developing regions with Shariah-compliant screening: companies involved in prohibited activities (for example, conventional financial services, alcohol, gambling, and other non-permissible businesses) are excluded, and financial screens are applied to ensure alignment with Islamic law. AMEM is designed for investors who want exposure to the growth opportunity and higher-return potential of emerging markets but prefer a disciplined, value-oriented, and ethically screened approach. As with any emerging-market equity strategy, investors should be prepared for higher volatility and country-specific risks relative to developed-market funds.
