ETF Overview
Leverage Shares 2X Long AAOI Daily ETF
Leverage Shares 2X Long AAOI Daily ETF (AAOG) is a single-stock, sector-focused exchange-traded fund that seeks to deliver twice the daily price performance of Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (Nasdaq: AAOI), before fees and expenses. As a 2x daily leveraged vehicle, AAOG provides amplified exposure to the short-term movements of AAOI shares rather than long-term buy-and-hold returns. AAOI operates in the Communications Equipment niche of the Information Technology sector, designing and supplying fiber‑optic networking components and semiconductor lasers used in data centers, telecommunications infrastructure and broadband access networks. AAOG therefore offers targeted access to the performance of a company whose revenues and share price are closely tied to trends in optical networking demand, cloud buildouts, 5G rollouts and broadband investment. This ETF is intended primarily for sophisticated and active investors or traders seeking tactical, directional exposure to AAOI through a liquid, tradable instrument. Because AAOG resets its leverage daily, returns over periods longer than one day can diverge materially from two times the cumulative return of AAOI due to compounding, volatility drag and path dependency. That leverage magnifies both gains and losses and can accelerate drawdowns in choppy markets. Investors considering AAOG should be aware of the elevated risk profile relative to traditional, unleveraged ETFs: amplified volatility, potential for significant short-term loss, and ongoing financing and operational costs that can erode performance over time. AAOG can be used for short-term speculation, hedging or tactical allocation within a broader portfolio, but it is generally unsuitable as a long-term buy-and-hold replacement for direct exposure to AAOI or the communications equipment sector.
