These Stocks are the Biggest Pre-Market Movers on Wednesday

TipRanks has compiled a list of Wednesday’s biggest pre-market stock movements.

Today’s stock market is dominated by mixed market sentiment on company-specific news, macro factors, and other variables. Using TipRanks’ new Top Stock Gainers/Losers page, we’ve identified the top five pre-market stock movers, as detailed below.

5 Biggest Movers

GameStop Corp. (GME) was the biggest gainer in pre-market trading, jumping around 8.78% at last watch. The video game retailer closed 30.72% higher on Tuesday. The positive sentiment followed the purchase of 100,000 shares of the company by billionaire Ryan Cohen’s investment company. Following the recent purchase, Cohen’s stake stands at nearly 11.9%, with 9.1 million shares owned.

Another gainer, Tilray Brands, Inc. (TLRY), a global pharmaceutical, cannabis-lifestyle, and consumer packaged goods company, rose in pre-market trading, recording gains of around 7.75% at the time of writing. Though the company has no fundamental news to explain the trading frenzy, it seems that the stock outperformed along with the market rally.

AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc. (AMC) surged 3.83% in pre-market trading at the time of writing. The jump in price followed a 15.1% rise in price at Tuesday’s close as “meme stocks” became a hot favorite among investors.

Meanwhile, Chindata Group Holdings Limited (CD) declined 4% in the pre-market session at the time of writing. The downward movement followed a 3.3% rise in price at Tuesday’s close. The company has no company-specific news to explain the trading frenzy. Chindata is a carrier-neutral hyperscale data center solution provider in Asia-Pacific emerging markets, focusing on China, India, and Southeast Asia markets.

Kansas-based Spirit AeroSystems Holdings, Inc. (SPR) completes the list. It lost 2.47% in pre-market trading, at last watch. The downward movement followed a 5.2% gain in price at Tuesday’s close. Though the world’s largest first-tier aerostructures manufacturer has no fundamental news to explain the trading frenzy, it seems that mixed market sentiment on global issues has led to volatility.
