American exercise equipment and media company Peloton Interactive, Inc. (PTON) was the biggest gainer in the pre-market trading, as the stock jumped 24.3% at the time of writing. The surge in stock price is likely related to speculation in the market that Wall Street biggies like Amazon (AMZN) and Nike (NKE) could potentially buy Peloton.
Another gainer, Dada Nexus Limited (DADA), which is a platform of local on-demand retail and delivery in China, rose over 8% in the pre-market trading following the release of the holiday consumption report for the Chinese New Year 2022. The company’s report compiled sales data on the JDDJ platform and JD Shop Now from January 7 to February 4.
Smart electric vehicle charging and energy management provider Wallbox N.V. (WBX) recorded gains of almost 7.3% in the pre-market trading at the time of writing, without any fundamental news explaining the uptrend. Continued positive momentum might have followed the announcement of the expansion of the partnership between Uber (UBER) and Wallbox, last week.
Meanwhile, the real estate investment trust American Homes 4 Rent (AMH) lost around 6% in the pre-market trading, without any fundamental news explaining the trading frenzy.
VIZIO Holding Corp. (VZIO), a provider of smart televisions, sound bars, and accessories in the United States, and an operator of Platform+, rounded off the list. It gained 5.9% in the pre-market trading, at last watch. The positive sentiment followed the company’s announcement to accelerate investments in advertising technology. The plan includes expansion of the company’s team to cater to increasing demand for direct-to-device advertising experiences.
