Former US Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has called for BuzzFeed to cut its staff, focus on video, and hire new voices after raising its stake in the company to 8.3%, Alex Rogers of The Financial Times reports. In a letter to the board, Ramaswamy criticized Buzzfeed for decision he claimed contributed to the public’s “distrust of the media,” including publishing a 2017 dossier by former British spy Christopher Steele.
