OpenAI is beginning to lower its dependency on Microsoft data centers and secure its own compute capacity, with CFO Sarah Friar saying Microsoft hasn’t moved fast enough to supply the company with compute power, The Information’s Anissa Gardizy, Aaron Holmes, and Amir Efrati report. In return, Microsoft has aimed to lessen its reliance on OpenAI technology as they increasingly compete in selling AI products, according to the report.
