Nissan (NSANY) is developing "growth plans in areas such as software and electric vehicles (EVs) independent of Renault SA" as the automakers work on finalizing terms of a limited alliance, reported Reuters’ Norihiko Shirouzu and Maki Shiraki, citing seven people with knowledge of the matter. This report comes as the companies’ alliance oversight board met this week to discuss Renault (RNLSY) cutting its stake in Nissan to 15% from 43%, which would match the size of Nissan’s stake in Renault, as well as Nissan gaining reciprocal voting rights.
