Morgan Stanley (MS) has penalized employees who used messaging platforms such as WhatsApp (META) for company business, Reuters’ Lananh Nguyen and Saeed Azhar report, citing two sources familiar with the situation. The penalties levied by the bank ranged from several thousand dollars for some employees to over $1M for others, the authors say, noting that the penalty figures were determined by factors such as the number of messages sent, seniority, and whether the staff had already been warned.
