Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan in talks to shore up First Republic, WSJ reports

Morgan Stanley (MS) and JPMorgan (JPM) are among the big banks that are in talks with First Republic (FRC) to shore up the lender, The Wall Street Journal’s David Benoit, Dana Cimilluca, and AnnaMaria Andriotis report. According to people familiar with the matter, First Republic is working on various potential options including a capital raise that could take various forms, and a takeover is also a possibility, though unlikely.
