IBM (IBM) is suing Patama Chantaruck, the former top executive in its Thailand, Thai, subsidiary, claiming she should pay back $470,000 in bonus awards for taking a job at a rival company, Ava Benny-Morrison of Bloomberg reports. In the lawsuit filed with the federal court in New York, IBM claimed Chantaruck breached her contract when she accepted a senior role with Accenture (ACN), IBM’s largest competitor in the Asian-Pacific region. IBM claims it awarded Chantaruck in bonuses over $470,000 in exchange for her to safeguard confidential company information and not engage in "competitive conduct within specific time periods."
