DA Davidson analyst Peter Winter initiated coverage of Cullen/Frost with a Buy rating and $147 price target. The banks is "firing on all cylinders", which has driven its peer leading earnings growth, the analyst tells investors in a research note, adding that Cullen/Frost has been "consistently" reporting beat and raise quarters for the past five quarters. Winter further notes that Cullen/Frost offers plenty of excess cash that is waiting to be deployed into higher yielding loans and securities.
