Apollo in talks to take stake in Credit Suisse investment bank unit, WSJ report

Apollo Global (APO) is among a group of financial firms in talks to take a stake in Credit Suisse’s (CS) revamped investment bank, Margot Patrick, Justin Baer, and Julie Steinberg of The Wall Street Journal reports, citing people familiar with the matter. Last year, Credit Suisse said it would carve out the advisory part of its operation into a new entity under the resurrected CS First Boston brand after a string of scandals. It planned to raise outside capital to launch the new entity. The talks with Apollo are continuing and could fall apart. Reference Link
