Report: Airbus May Produce Engines for Hydrogen-Fuelled Planes, Says CEO

Dutch aircraft manufacturer Airbus SE’s (EADSF) CEO Guillaume Faury recently said, in an interview, that the company may make the engines for its hydrogen-fuelled airplanes, Reuters reported citing a German newspaper, Welt am Sonntag.

The company plans to build a zero-emission hydrogen-fuelled commercial aircraft, the world’s first, by 2035.

The engines for these aircraft would be electric in nature and could be produced in-house, Faury said.

EADSF stock closed almost 1% up on Friday at $127.50.

Recently, Christophe Menard from Deutsche Bank assigned a Buy rating to the stock with a price target of $156.86 (23% upside potential).

Overall, the stock has a Strong Buy consensus rating based on 9 Buys and 1 Hold. The average EADSF price target of $166.36 implies 30.5% upside potential. Shares have gained 17.7% over the past year.
