PassiveLogic – Weekly Recap

PassiveLogic – Weekly Recap

PassiveLogic featured prominently this week with a leadership change and a major technology milestone, underscoring its push to scale autonomous building operations globally. The company operates in the smart infrastructure and building automation space, using physics-based AI to transform traditional control systems.

PassiveLogic appointed Thomas Kiessling, former Chief Technology Officer of Siemens Smart Infrastructure, as its new Chief Executive Officer. His mandate is to lead the next phase of commercial expansion and global growth, focusing on deploying the company’s Physical AI platform across commercial and industrial buildings.

Under Kiessling’s leadership, PassiveLogic aims to convert buildings into autonomous, grid-interactive assets that can act as infrastructure robots. The company plans to scale its Quantum world model and Hive edge platform, which automatically create digital twins and apply physics-based AI for real-time optimization.

This architecture is designed to lower deployment costs while improving energy efficiency, resilience, and occupant comfort. By replacing outdated, labor-intensive control systems, PassiveLogic is targeting broader adoption beyond premium properties and into mainstream building portfolios.

The company also unveiled its Level 3 Autonomy platform, positioning it as a core control layer for buildings and infrastructure. The system coordinates HVAC, power, and other building systems in real time, anticipating demand and adjusting parameters to minimize energy use and operational risk.

Built on NVIDIA-powered computation, Level 3 replaces script-based building automation with a traceable AI control framework that operates deterministically. The platform can reason about equipment, people, and assets, and then execute actions in a transparent and auditable manner.

Kiessling indicated that PassiveLogic plans to reach Level 4 Autonomy later this year, adding edge learning and longer prediction horizons. These enhancements are expected to improve performance, resilience, and emissions outcomes across large real estate and industrial portfolios.

Backed by investors including NVentures, Prologis Ventures, Brookfield Growth, and Johnson Controls, PassiveLogic is positioning itself as a potential category leader in autonomous infrastructure. This week’s developments signal a strategic alignment of leadership and technology as the company seeks to accelerate market adoption.

Overall, the week marked a significant step for PassiveLogic, combining a high-profile CEO appointment with the launch of Level 3 Autonomy to advance its vision of fully autonomous, AI-driven buildings.
