Analysts’ Take on ASTS Stock
On October 23, Scotiabank’s Coello upgraded AST SpaceMobile to Buy from Hold. The 5-star analyst raised his price target to $55.70 from $50.80, implying 56.37% upside. Coello said the sell-off following SpaceX’s spectrum acquisition was justified. He believes Starlink’s new satellites could narrow ASTS’s technical lead. However, SpaceX’s broader ambitions could also make ASTS more valuable to telecom operators seeking satellite capacity.
Coello sees satellite launch capacity as the main factor for ASTS. Investors remain concerned about delays in getting Bluebird satellites into orbit. However, he expects competing rocket providers to expand launch capacity over the coming months. Scotiabank expects ASTS to achieve continuous commercial service in developed markets by Q4 2027.
Meanwhile, Piper Sandler’s Potter downgraded his rating from Buy to Hold and lowered the price target to $54 from $98. The 5-star analyst cited “lower conviction in the pace of satellite launches in 2026-2027.” He also warned that SpaceX’s push into the direct-to-cell (D2C) market could limit launch availability for ASTS and add to pricing pressure.
Is ASTS a Good Stock to Buy?
Overall, Wall Street has a Moderate Buy consensus rating on AST SpaceMobile stock based on six Buys and five Holds. The average ASTS stock price target of $80.71 indicates 126.59% upside potential.
