Google (GOOGL) Upgrades Logo for First Time Since 2015

Alphabet (GOOGL) has updated the logo of its online search engine Google for the first time since 2015.

Confident Investing Starts Here:

Specifically, Alphabet has updated its colorful “G” logo to better reflect the company’s push into artificial intelligence (AI). The first update in a decade comes as Alphabet seeks to better align its business, especially online search, with its Gemini AI unit.

An update to the Google app on both iOS and Pixel phones shows a new “G” logo that blends the red, yellow, green, and blue colors into a new gradient format. While the change is more subtle than past updates, the new logo with its blended colors brings it in line with the gradient used for the Gemini logo.

Other Issues

Google last made a major change to its logo in September 2015, when the company updated its font to a Sans-Serif typeface. At the time, Google debuted the “G” logo that incorporates all of the brand’s colors. So far, Google has only updated its logo on iOS and Pixel phones.

The “G” still appears with distinct borders between colors on the web and other Android devices. The updated logo also comes as Alphabet deals with a number of issues, including tariff uncertainty, an ongoing antitrust case brought against it by the U.S. government, and rising competition in the AI space.

GOOGL stock has declined 16% this year.
