Tuesday’s Pre-Market: Here’s What You Need to Know Before the Market Opens

U.S. stock futures were mixed on Tuesday as soaring energy prices heightened fears of dampened economic growth amid rising inflation. Policy tightening fears also gripped the markets as U.S. treasury yields rose to 18 month-highs.

Dow futures were down 0.10%, S&P futures were down 0.03%, and Nasdaq futures were up 0.14% at the time of writing.

AZZ, Inc. (AZZ), Enzo Biochem, Inc. (ENZ), and Fang Holdings Ltd. (SFUN) are set to report their quarterly earnings before the market opens. VOXX International Corp. (VOXX) and Smart Global Holdings (SGH) will report after the market close.

Camber Energy, Inc. (CEI) was the most active stock in the pre-market session, with 3.12 million shares changing hands at the time of writing. The company has continued to elicit interest following a scathing short report from Kerrisdale Capital.

Biotricity, Inc. (BTCY) was the biggest gainer in the pre-market session, jumping 16.07% at the time of writing. It is still unclear what is causing the stock to pop as no fundamental news has been released to justify the jump.

FuboTV, Inc. (FUBO) has entered into a distribution agreement with AT&T SportsNet. With the agreement, the company gains access to streaming rights of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain. Consequently, the live streaming platform will access live coverage of the Utah Jazz, Vegas Golden Knights, and Colorado Rockies. Additionally, the company intends to launch a regional sports network in Nevada.

International Business Machines Corporation (IBMhas inked a strategic partnership with Raytheon Technologies (RTX) to develop advanced artificial intelligence, cryptographic, and quantum solutions. The solutions are for use in the aerospace, defense, and intelligence industries. The collaboration should be a catalyst in advancing the development of state-of-the-art technologies.

Exxon Mobil Corporation (XOM) plans to develop its first large-scale plastic waste advanced recycling facility in Texas. Operations at the facility should begin by the end of next year. The facility aligns with the company’s goals to reduce plastic waste. The facility will have a recycling capacity of up to 30,000 metric tons of plastic waste per year, with the ability to ramp up capacity.

Emerson Electric (EMR) has reached an agreement with AspenTech (AZPN) for the creation of a new company dubbed the new AspenTech. The new company is a result of a merger between AspenTech with Emerson Electric’s software business OSI, Inc. and the Geological Simulation Software business. The merger should result in a high-performance industrial software leader.

Walmart, Inc. (WMT) is teaming up with Netflix, Inc. (NFLX) to make it easy for people to access some of the streaming giant’s hottest products. Netflix Hub is the new dedicated online hub that will host merchandise from some of Netflix’s hottest shows. The new outlet will offer Netflix an opportunity to strengthen its sales channels.
