Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) stock slipped on Friday even after the semiconductor company announced a new robotics partnership program. The company announced the AMD Robotics Partner Network at Advancing AI 2026, creating a new ecosystem focused on speeding up the development of robotics and physical AI systems. The program brings together hardware makers, software companies, simulation providers, sensor firms, and system integrators around AMD platforms.
AMD said the goal is to help companies move robotics projects from testing to real-world use faster. It also noted that the network can reduce integration work, improve system testing, and give developers more flexibility by using open standards instead of closed software platforms.
AMD Wants to Create a Hub for Robotics AI
“No single company will build the future of physical AI,” said Amey Deosthali, Senior Director of Industrial, Robotics, and Healthcare at AMD. He added that building robots requires many technologies working together, and the network is designed to help partners create production-ready systems with fewer roadblocks.
The program supports AMD platforms ranging from edge devices powered by Ryzen AI Embedded processors and Versal adaptive SoCs to data center systems using EPYC processors and Instinct GPUs. Partners can use tools including ROCm, ROS 2, Ryzen AI software, Vitis AI, and ONNX.
