Cathie Wood Buys the Dip with $41M in Broadcom, Cerebras, and Rocket Lab Shares; Sells $19M of Roblox
Story Highlights
  • Cathie Wood’s ARK bought $21.1 million of Broadcom, its largest purchase of the day.
  • ARK also bought $17.3 million of Cerebras and $2.7 million of Rocket Lab stocks.
  • The fund sold $18.9 million of Roblox as shares continued to recover, while analysts see 23.6% upside for RBLX.

Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest used Wednesday’s market weakness to add $41.2 million worth of Broadcom (AVGO), Cerebras Systems (CBRS), and Rocket Lab (RKLB) shares. The purchases came as all three stocks faced selling pressure, giving ARK a chance to increase its exposure to AI and space stocks.

At the same time, ARK took some money off the table in Roblox (RBLX), selling 501,466 shares worth about $18.9 million through the ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK). The sale came as Roblox shares recovered from a steep drop earlier this month. Analysts have a Moderate Buy rating on RBLX, with a $47.82 average price target implying 23.59% upside.

ARK also sold 203,242 shares of 10X Genomics (TXG) worth about $11.3 million through ARKK and the ARK Genomic Revolution ETF (ARKG). The move extends ARK’s recent selling in the biotech stock.

ARK Uses the Pullback to Add to 3 Stocks – RKLB, AVGO, CBRS

ARK used Wednesday’s market weakness to increase its positions in three stocks across AI, semiconductors, and space technology.

1. ARK Buys $21M of Broadcom Stock Ahead of Q3 Earnings

Broadcom was ARK’s largest purchase on Wednesday, with the fund buying 55,548 shares worth about $21.1 million across three ETFs. The purchase came after Broadcom shares fell about 4.6% on Wednesday.

The decline came as investors weighed a new custom-chip agreement between Marvell Technology (MRVL) and Google. The deal raised concerns about competition in custom AI chips, putting pressure on Broadcom.

The company is set to report its fiscal Q3 2026 results on September 2. Analysts expect adjusted EPS of $3.21, up 89% from a year earlier, while revenue is forecast to rise more than 80% to $29.25 billion from $15.95 billion. Wall Street also has a Strong Buy rating on AVGO, with an average price target implying about 35.8% upside

2. Wood Adds $17M to Cerebras Position

ARK also bought 78,756 Cerebras shares worth about $17.3 million on Wednesday. The purchase followed another $8.8 million investment in Cerebras on Tuesday, when the stock fell sharply.

The purchases came just after Cerebras unveiled its new CS-4 AI system. The company said the system can deliver up to twice the speed of its previous CS-3 system and up to 30 times the performance of GPU-based solutions for some workloads.

Cerebras has also been expanding its AI inference business. Its second-quarter cloud revenue rose 281% year over year, while the company said it now has 600 megawatts of data center capacity under contract. ARK’s latest purchases show continued interest in Cerebras as it expands its position in AI computing.

3. ARK Adds $2.7M of Rocket Lab Stock

ARK bought 34,370 Rocket Lab shares worth about $2.7 million on Wednesday. The purchase came after RKLB shares fell about 4% on Tuesday.  Rocket Lab has continued to add to its business through new government contracts. The company recently secured a $12 million contract from the U.S. Space Force for its satellite communications work.

The company also reported record second-quarter revenue of $234 million, up 62% year over year. Its backlog reached $1.17 billion in the quarter.

The latest purchase adds to ARK’s recent interest in Rocket Lab as the company expands its launch and space systems businesses.
