Popular Inc (BPOP) has provided an announcement.
Popular, Inc. has appointed Javier D. Ferrer as its new President while retaining his role as Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Ferrer’s extensive background includes leadership roles within Popular and a stint as President of the Government Development Bank for Puerto Rico. The Corporation has also updated its by-laws to allow the separation of the CEO and President roles. At the Annual Meeting of Shareholders, thirteen directors were elected, executive compensation was approved, and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP was ratified as the independent accounting firm for 2024.
